The Gossamer Threads Project …

Connection is at the heart, the fine threads we weave, those magic threads that bring together people and ideas deepening our connections to each other and nature through creativity

About me

August 2020 on a walk in the inspiring rewilding project on Knepp Castle Estate in West Sussex the idea of The Gossamer Threads Project came to me. I was looking for a way to pull together many of my creative strands and start an investigation into how to do things differently as a musician.

For 20 years I have been a professional singer starting out as an operatic
soprano moving into the creation of one-woman shows and ending up in the vintage swirl of cabaret! During these years and to this current day I also wear the hat of community musician or ‘accidental’ music therapist. I am an experienced singing facilitator with a special interest in dementia care. I play the harp, flute and compose weaving my love for storytelling through song, music, poetry, story writing and theatrical performance.

Like many musicians I experienced a halt in my performing life due to the global pandemic, but it also offered me the opportunity to re-evaluate. I found myself in a personal rewilding process returning to my first loves of folk and nature and stepping onto a new path as a professional storyteller.

About the Project

The Gossamer Threads Project is not only a project to explore my own creativity but it is also an opportunity for collaboration, skill sharing and creating bespoke events.
